As a Health At Every Size labor doula and social worker, I am passionate about creating body positive community and exploring the personal body histories we each bring to the birth space. I studied psychoanalytic and social theories on food and embodiment at The Women's Therapy Centre Institute. I worked at The Body Positive in Berkeley CA and The New School in NYC facilitating workshops with women around body positivity, size discrimination and intuitive eating. I offer trainings for birth workers that are focused on untangling cultural messages around health and weight and understanding how to support our clients navigate these themes throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I also lead groups for pregnant people to better understand their food and body thoughts throughout pregnancy and foster body positive community.
