Psychotherapy services

Whether you're navigating the perinatal period, healing your relationship with food and your body, or trying to work through anxiety or grief — this is a compassionate space to meet you where you are. I offer virtual therapy in New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey.

A collaborative approach to therapy

Therapy here isn't about being told what to do or how to feel. It's about slowing down, getting curious, and figuring out together what's been getting in the way.

I work from a Health at Every Size and Body Trust framework, drawing on Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and self-compassion practices. My approach is relational and feminist-informed — which means I consider not just what you're experiencing, but where it comes from.

No matter what brings you here, the work is always collaborative — guided by your needs, your pace, and what feels most meaningful to you.

Perinatal & reproductive mental health

The perinatal period can bring up a lot — joy, grief, identity shifts, and everything in between. Whether you're navigating pregnancy, birth, feeding challenges, or the emotional weight of a reproductive experience that didn't go as expected, you don't have to carry it alone.

I’m a Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) and former labor doula. Having supported over 100 families through birth, I have a deep understanding of this season of life and how it can bring to the surface old wounds and shift your sense of self.

Together, we'll make space for the full complexity of your experience and work toward feeling more like yourself again.

Disordered eating & body image

If you've spent years being told your body is a problem to be fixed, it makes sense that your view of food and your body feels complicated. This work isn't about changing your body — it's about changing your relationship with it.

Working from a Body Trust and Health at Every Size framework, we'll explore your story together. We'll look at your body’s history, messages, and rules and work towards a relationship that feels more trusting and more intuitive.

Healing your relationship with food and your body is not a linear process. But with curiosity and care, it's possible to find more ease and less noise.

Anxiety, grief & life transitions

Anxiety has a way of convincing you it's keeping you safe. Grief can make everything feel flat and far away. And life transitions, even the ones you chose, can leave you feeling like you don't quite recognize yourself anymore.

No matter what you’re experiencing, you're not alone. Together, we'll slow things down and get curious about the patterns, critical voices, and parts of you that have been working overtime.

About your therapist — Sarah Lewin, LCSW, PMH-C

Therapist in NY, CT, & NJ, Sarah Lewin, smiling at camera

Hi, I’m Sarah. I'm a licensed clinical social worker and certified Body Trust provider based in New York City. Before training as a therapist, I spent six years supporting families through birth as a labor doula. This work continues to shape how I show up with clients today.

My practice is grounded in the belief that the parts of you that feel most difficult aren't broken. They're asking for attention, and I'm here to offer a space for that.

I'm licensed in New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey and see all clients virtually.
